The film Gomorrah,  shows the dark side of Naples, portraying a city of rot and executions overseen by the ruthless Camorra crime organisation.

 

Matteo Garrone, the director, cast a number of locals in Gomorrah to maximise realism, and the film has been hailed for its almost documentary-style quality.

 

The film is based on an exposé by the investigative journalist Roberto Saviano - who is now living under police protection after exposing the powerful Camorra.
